Eva-Maria UngerSurveying Engineer at the Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying

During her tenure as chair of the Young Surveyors Network (YSN) of the International Federation of Surveyors, Eva-Maria Unger  became, in the eyes of many in surveying, the international ambassador to the future of the profession. In addition to her involvement and promotion of the YSN, Eva-Maria has been involved in (and championing) the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE) initiative; her master’s thesis on INSPIRE has been published as a book. She is also co-author of the book Liegenschaft und Wert (Property and Value).

Eva-Maria holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Vienna University of Technology, and, in addition to her work for the Austrian Federal Office of Metrology and Surveying, she is enrolled as a PhD student at ITC, Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation Enschede, University Twente. During the course of her studies (and holiday breaks), Eva-Maria has had internships with surveying firms, with OMV (the biggest oil refinery in Austria), and with the Austrian Archeological Institute in Turkey.
