Kelly Ness

Principal Instructor, Surveying and Civil Engineering Department, Dunwoody College of Technology Minnesota, USA

In addition to his teaching duties, Kelly Ness is a licensed professional surveyor in Minnesota and Montana and an FAA part 107 remote pilot and ASPRS certified mapping scientist— UAS (among the first group certified at the Commercial UAV Expo).

He also owns and operates SkySurv LLC that uses drone technology and provides software/hardware training and conventional land surveying services.

Kelly’s project experience includes surveying for wind, solar, pipeline, transmission line, and public utilities, as well as inshore and offshore hydrographic surveying. Kelly also serves as director of the Minnesota Land Surveyors Foundation, a 503c nonprofit that secures scholarships for promising surveying students and graduates. He recently received the Dunwoody College Outstanding Innovation award and 2016 Instructor of the Year award.
