New Video Promoting Surveying as a Career

US Careers Online has partnered with WithersRavenel to highlight Geomatics and Surveying as a possible career path.

North Carolina based US Careers Online—a leader in helping students find a career in new and interesting fields for over a decade—has released its newest video profile highlighting the field of Geomatics and Surveying.

The video is collaboration with WithersRavenel, a civil and environmental engineering firm with locations across North Carolina.

The video highlighting the career field can be viewed at https://uscareersonline.com/video-gallery/.

“Surveying is the closest thing to flying an airplane at 500 miles per hour,” said Eugene Fine, lead geomatics instructor, Wake Technical Community College,

“When I graduated high school I knew that I enjoyed math and I knew that I enjoyed being outside and I found a program and a degree that incorporated both of them,” said Luke Riley, Wake Technical Community College geomatics graduate.

“I fell in love with the career,” he said.

Giving students a look at less well known career fields is the primary function of US Careers Online and works as a tool to help users find a career that is in demand and fits their individual goals.

“The answer for every career opportunity is not always a four year liberal arts degree,” said Jim Babson, founder, US Careers Online. “The future of a strong US economy belongs to the bold young tradesman, to young men and women who reach out for the new opportunities in traditional industries. In many of these careers you can advance really quickly. If you get the basic training, are motivated and have business and technical sense, you can have a wonderful career often making $60 to $90 thousand per year.”

Babson likes to equate his website to a digital career fair, giving users a taste of what life would be like in a unique trade.

“The key two words here are career awareness,” he said. “That’s what it’s all about.
